Administration & Support Services

Katie Curtis- Business Support Officer
Kate acts as a point of contact for families and professionals. She is also responsilbe for the smooth running of the Northern Area Funding Referal Panel, by taking minutes and ensuring families and professionals are informed of funding outcomes. She also oversees the Children's Centre finances and budget.

Rod Edwards- Admin
Rod works in Dereham Children's Centre as an admin assistant. He answers your calls, helps with enquiries, deals with paperwork and finances and is also a crucial part of the toy library team as he catalogues all of the new toys before they are loaned out. He also ensures that toys are assembled correctly and safe to use.

Jackie Hews- Teenage Parent’s Adviser
Jackie's role is to provide a wide range of support to teenage parents. She can work with pregnant girls and their partners, and those who are already parents. She can give support in accessing services and with issues such as housing, benefits, employment, college or training, childcare and funding. She offers regular drop in sessions and appointments and is involved with the young parents group, but can also work with young people in the community.

Martin Laneuville- Dad's Group Co-ordinator - Volunteer
Martin is one of our experienced volunteer's working within the Dereham Area. He is the lead on supporting and running the weekly dad's group and helps run the allotment project.

Michelle Walker- Family Support Worker
Michelle's role is to support families on a one to one basis with any problematic situations. This includes helping with benefits, job advice, parenting skills, routines or help attending local groups. She also runs a Stay & Play at Hockering where families can play and interact with their children.

Michelle is also a trained Parent Educator. As part of her P.A.F.T (Parents As First Teachers) programme she works with parents on child development for any family with a child pre-birth to 3 years old.

Sue Alexander- Family Support Worker

Olive Collins- Community Mental Health
Olive is an Occupational therapist whose role in the service is helping people return to work, including voluntary work. She is also starting a well-being group covering topics such as healthy eating and exercise and how these improve people's mental health. Olive is also co-ordinating the allotment project.

The Health Visiting Team- Health Visitors
The Health Visiting team work closely with the Children's Centre to provide an excellent service in the local community. They make home visits to new babies, run baby clinics and parent and baby/toddler groups, give advice on breastfeeding, weaning, healthy eating, health matters and much much more.

Connexions- Working With Young People Between 13 And 19
Connexions is for you if you are 13-19, living in England and wanting advice on getting to where you want to be in life. It also provides support up to the age of 25 for young people who have learning difficulties or disabilities (or both).

Connexions is a modern public service and young people are actively involved in its design and delivery.

Louisa Bayley- Children's Centre Manager
Louisa is the Children's Centre Manager for Dereham, Wells and Holt. Her job is to ensure that families and children in the local community are able to access the services they need, when they need them. Louisa works closely with the children's centre staff to develop provision for families in the local area.

Penny Egmore- Children's Centre Practice Co-ordinator
Penny is responsible for co-ordinating with community partners to ensure that services in the area meet the needs of the families and children under 5 living in the Dereham area. She writes the activity programmes to show what activities are available, co-ordinates events, works closely with families and children, oversees the young parents group and is the figurehead of the children's centre.

The Midwifery Team- Midwives
The Midwives provide a valuable service both before and after the birth of your baby. They make home visits, give advice on breastfeeding, health issues, healthy eating, weaning and much much more. They also run a breastfeeding cafe, help volunteers to become breastfeeding supporters and run ante natal sessions for parents-to-be.

Julie Halvorson- Project Support Assistant
Julie works within the Toy Library. She is responsible for booking toys/equipment in and out and helping parents/carers make suitable choices for their children. Julie also cleans and checks the toys, prepares orders for families and carries out Toy Library administration work. As a Project Support assistant Julie is also available to help with other projects when required by the Children's Centre.

Tracey Palmer- Toy Library Practitioner
Tracey delivers our very popular FREE Toy Library service. She visits groups, nurseries and pre-schools in the Dereham area and children and families can choose the toys or books they would like from her range of catalogues. The toys are loaned out for three weeks at a time and then you can choose a different toy to take home.

This excellent service is free of charge and offers a wide range of toys, books, special needs equipment, safety equipment and resources for parents. If you would like to find out more about the Toy Library, contact Tracey and she will be pleased to help you. Happy borrowing!
